Technical Expert– Forestry Scheme – Management Systems Certification Body Accreditation&Product, Process, and Service Certification Body Accreditation
The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking bilingual technical experts to conduct Management Systems Certification Body and Product, Process and Service Certification accreditation assessments– Forestry Scheme, on a contractual basis.
Technical experts play a key role in the assessment of certification bodies by applying their expertise to evaluate the competence of personnel and the conformity of processes. They conduct file reviews, interviews with certification body personnel and witness audits to support accreditation assessments.
Key activities
Work closely with the lead assessor to determine the assessment scope and criteria.
Review customer’s quality management system, standard operating procedures, forms, work instructions and job aids to assess evidence of conformity with relevant criteria.
Review customer’s personnel competency management system, personnel human resources records and certification body file records to assess evidence of conformity with relevant criteria.
Observe the work of certification body personnel to assess the conformity to procedures and application of relevant criteria via a witness audit.
Gather objective evidence of conformances and non-conformances during the assessment.
Report to the lead assessor on findings and provide recommendations based on evidence.
Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident/Work visa for the duration of the contract
Language requirements
Bilingual imperative (French and English)
Technical knowledge SCC is seeking individuals who have specific knowledge or expertise to the forestry scheme in one or more of the following sectors for our Management Systems Accreditation Program and Product, Process and Service Certification Body Accreditation Program.

Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
Ability and willingness to travel within Canada and US, occasionally on short notice
Ability to work in a variety of industrial, commercial and manufacturing environments
