The position will be tailored to the successful applicant and will involve working in a team which provides hardware support on our products in the field and in mitigating component obsolescence issues.In this role you will...* Review alternate components for 2nd source qualification and obsolescence* Execute hardware verification plans and debug prototype hardware using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic/network analyzers, protocol/signalgenerators etc.* Debug and support hardware investigations of field issues* Modify circuit packs to enable testing or to fix issues uncovered during testing**The Must Haves:*** Electrical Engineering program or equivalent* Familiarity with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and testsets) and measurement techniques would be beneficial* Understanding of high speed signaling, transmission lines, digital and analog design**The Assets:*** Experience designing and debugging hardware is an asset* Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools is an assetThe pay range for this position is $25.00-$34.00/hourPay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
