Senior Solutions Architect, Canadian Federal Government, Ahuntsic North

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Solutions Architect to help design and deliver advanced cloud computing solutions to Canadian Federal Government customers. You will be a member of a dynamic team, bringing the latest in disruptive, cutting‑edge cloud computing technology to solve difficult and impactful challenges within this vertical. You will be a key member of the business development and sales team and part of the larger AWS Worldwide Public Sector team.

Key responsibilities

Partner with customers, sales, and AWS technical teams to craft highly flexible and resilient architectures that address customer mission challenges.

Advise customers on best practices around advanced cloud solutions and help organizations understand AWS concepts and architectures.

Advancing the sales cycle by explaining AWS services and solutions to customers.

Advocating on behalf of customers for new features and capabilities.

Day in the life Solutions architects are part of the sales organization. They often meet with customers to understand their business and technical challenges, crafting solutions that leverage AWS products and services. A portion of their time is dedicated to learning and experimentation with the latest technologies.

The team Solutions Architects are regarded as technical“thought leaders” who evangelize emerging technologies not only on a conceptual level, but also on a practical level. They play a critical role in the widespread adoption and advancement of cloud computing capabilities within the public sector, solving problems at both the mission and technicallevels by working backwards from customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.

5+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data&analytics).

3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.

Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT management, and developers.

Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.

Base salary range: CAN, ON, Ottawa– 146,000.00 – 211,600.00 CAD annually. Total compensation may include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units.
