Overview The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the Security and Loss Prevention Cluster Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
Serve as department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on department’s key issues, strategies and performance.
Identify, promote and implement security best practices while effectively partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes and initiatives; facilitate incident response planning and management.
Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable.
Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in an environment with variable noise, temperatures and weather; continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
Cover 24/7 operations and work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
A Day in the Life As an SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security‑related incidents, and loss events.
During your investigations, you will collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. Your findings contribute to identifying vulnerabilities in various processes and driving mitigating measures.
You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of systems and, with subject matter experts and external suppliers, ensuring functionality. You identify and act upon initiatives improving physical security infrastructure and contribute directly to the budgetary planning for external suppliers. You interact daily with external security service providers to ensure delivery of high‑quality security services and a smooth customer experience.
You will work on multiple high‑impact initiatives/projects by collaborating with stakeholders across organizational levels to deliver measurable outcomes through effective project management.
Finally, you deliver loss prevention‑related education and awareness programs to other teams across all management levels and manage the implementation of the S&LP plan.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE), or 2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with physical security control and surveillance systems.
Experience in implementing metric‑based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain.
Investigative interviewing experience; certifications such as Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment, or other relevant certifications.
Workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and business continuity planning experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including use of Excel pivot tables and development of charts/graphics.

Salary and Benefits The base salary range for this position is CAD 72,300.00 – 97,800.00 annually.
