Role Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative student to join the hardware development team working on Ciena’s Switching products. The position will be tailored to the successful applicant and will involve working with senior designers to implement and validate leading edge circuit packs.
Responsibilities
Support hardware test and debug of new and existing circuit boards
Board programming, prototype inventory, etc.
Assist in performing thorough design verification to validate functionality, performance, operating margins, and robustness.
Signal integrity measurements, thermal stress, component qualification, etc.
Contribute to documentation such as Design Specification and Test Plans
Gain exposure to the detailed design of high-speed digital and analog circuits
Work in Cadence CAD tools (Concept/Allegro)
Learn how fiber optic transport equipment and associated test equipment function.
The Must Haves
Working towards completion of a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Assets
Familiarity with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers and test sets)
Understanding of high speed signaling, transmission lines, digital and analog design
Experience designing and debugging hardware
Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools
Pay Range The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00. Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
