Retro will be paid after the ratification.Language of Work:Anglais | EnglishRequirements and Nature of Work:Nature of work:The research assistant will assist Professor Paul Robinson of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs with a project on the topic of ‘Russian defeatism’ which will research Russian oppositionists who have sought their country’s defeat in war, from the period of the Russo-Japanese War in 1904-1905 through to the current war in Ukraine.Applicants must have a good knowledge of the Russian language.The RA’s tasks will be:To identify articles relevant to the topic in such historical newspapers as can be found in digital form. to find relevant material in the social media accounts of contemporary defeatists (e.g. Telegram channels and Twitter/X accounts), as well as other materials published in digital form (websites, etc.).To carry out other research that becomes necessary as the project develops.To organize the collected materials in an accessible form, to easily locate specific information and to understand the relevanceof the collected materials to the research questions.Qualifications:Candidates must have good knowledge of the Russian language.Additional Information and/or Comments:All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
