Senior Geotechnical Engineer&Branch Manager, Ottawa DS is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer&Branch Manager to join our team. This role provides a competitive salary, benefits package, and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day‑to‑day operations and overall management of DS’s office.

Lead marketing and client liaison activities.

Recruit and hire strategic staff.

Prepare proposals, budgets and support client development.

Plan, manage and execute projects and oversee staff to ensure effective deployment of resources.

Prepare and oversee proposals on behalf of project managers, liaise with clients and initiate projects in line with DS standards.

Supervise and mentor intermediate and senior engineers to enhance their capabilities.

Supervise and manage office operations, including training of junior staff.

Ensure health and safety policies are followed at all sites.

Key Qualifications, Skills&Education

University degree in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Science from a recognized institution.

Registered and practising Professional Engineer in Ontario.

8‑10 years of experience in the geotechnical, materials testing, or construction industry.

Strong project management, client management and business development skills.

Proven leadership and team‑building experience.

Preferred experience running a branch office or division.

Willingness to travel between DS offices and sites within Ontario.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English.

Highly organised, able to work well under pressure and multi‑task.

Must own a vehicle with insurance coverage and hold a valid (G‑Level) Ontario driver’s licence.

Flexible to work on a wide variety of projects, tasks and assignments, and responsive to changing priorities.
