·
Performs specialized cleaning tasks in both resident rooms and common areas of the facility.·
Performs other related duties as assigned.·
Extensive standing and walking. Moving equipment, lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling and crouching. Exposure to hazards from use of power equipment. Exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors. Subject to interruptions of duties resulting from resident needs.·
Housekeeper must be able to lift carry up to 20 lbs.·
Grade 10 education or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.·
Must have 1 years’ experience·
Experience in long term care or similar environment.·
Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.·
Ability to work cooperatively with all managers and staff and create a working climate that is positive and mutually supportive.·
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.·
Ability to organize work.·
Ability to develop and maintain rapport with elderly residents.·
Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening.Our employees are motivated by the fulfillment and meaning they experience as they serve people in need across Canada and Bermuda.
