Job Description:
Coordinate telecommunication projects to ensure they meet requirements, budgets and deadlines
Direct and control daily operations
Evaluate daily operations
Plan and organize daily operations
Review projects to ensure compliance with telecommunications regulations and government regulatory requirements, including International Telecommunications Union requirements
Establish and implement policies and procedures for sharing and compatibility studies
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with interference analyses and coordination models
Oversee the preparation of reports
Advise senior management
Ensure compliance with telecommunications regulations and directives of government regulatory agencies for licensing of satellites and earth stations
Hire, train, direct and motivate staff
Consult with clients after sale of consulting services to provide ongoing support
Supervise technicians, technologists, programmers, analysts and engineers
Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for satellite communication systems.
Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of antenna and radio frequency components, assemblies and systems
Develop ITU Appendix 4 filing information in support of satellite regulatory applications across various countries around the world
Develop sharing and compatibility studies compared to Radio Regulations and with other proposed RF systems to be used in regulatory proposal development for the ITU and for ISED in Canada.
Manage satellite network coordination efforts as part of various countries’ delegations.
Attend ITU-R meetings including SG4, WP4A, WP4B, WP4C, WP5D, WP7D, or others as requested on a project-by-project basis.
Assist market access efforts with technical evaluation of compatibility against national radio regulation framework.
Requirements Education: A universitys degree in science, electrical or telecommunications engineering or in an appropriate related field is required.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the field is required.

Key Information: Work schedule is 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. Work involves accommodating international meetings (both virtual and in-person) outside working hours as requested by clients. Work is required on weekends, statutory holidays and has a portion of on-call necessity if a client urgent request is received. International travel is required up to 30% of the time, including the United States, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and Japan. Working on premise at client locations in Ottawa, Canada, as needed and upon clients request is required.
