ESL Instructor for Fall 2026 Semester (Ahuntsic-Cartierville)

The University of Ottawa seeks a part time ESL instructor for ESL 120 during the Fall 2026 semester. This teaching role emphasizes academic development through targeted instruction in English listening, reading, and writing.

Joining the official Languages and Bilingualism Institute, you will teach a course that builds essential academic skills for students. This position requires a Masters degree related to language instruction and two years of relevant teaching experience at the college level. Classes are scheduled Monday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities: • Create comprehensive lesson plans for ESL 120 • Guide students in effective oral presentations • Facilitate writing workshops using varied organizational patterns • Monitor and assess student progress regularly • Participate in faculty collaborative meetings

Requirements: • Masters in TESL or similar discipline • Two years of ESL teaching experience required • Experience with team-teaching approach • TESL Certification or another equivalent • Must teach in person at the Ottawa campus
