Student HSE Coordinator, Ahuntsic North

Student HSE Coordinator We are seeking a student for a 4‑month co‑op position starting September1,2026, based out of Ottawa, ON. Responsibilities

Support site supervision with the implementation and management of the Bird Safety Program. Work closely with Project Management and Supervision regarding the development of site‑specific safe work practices, procedures, and hazard assessments. Participate in regularly scheduled health and safety inspections of the workplace and document/post these inspections in conspicuous locations on the job site.Follow up on all corrective actions’ items noted during ongoing inspections and participate in and/or take the lead role in the investigation into incidents in the workplace. Maintain statistics and records and monitor accident/incident frequencies and safety violations. Work with Project Management and Supervision to ensure trade contractors comply with the Bird Construction HSE program and applicable regulatory acts and regulations.Participate in and/or lead regular scheduled safety meetings. Liaise with regulatory authorities to promote safety on the job site. Provide site‑specific orientation to workers and/or visitors new to the job. Provide first‑aid assessment and treatment for workers. Perform other duties as required.Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Health, Safety, and Environment diploma or equivalent program. Will complete at least one more semester of education following the co‑op and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently. Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships.Exemplify the ideal team player: hungry, humble, smart. Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals. Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude. Residency or a valid work permit that allows employment for Bird Construction or its subsidiaries.Capability to successfully complete a pre‑employment Medical and/or Alcohol&Drug testing if required for client‑specific roles.
