Overview Stantec is seeking Senior Environmental Planners/Project Managers to join our Assessment and Permitting team within the Environmental Services practice, working within one of our London, Waterloo, Markham, Hamilton, or Ottawa offices.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manage project tasks and deliverables and assist with implementing the environmental assessment and permitting process as it applies to projects.
Communicate and liaise with a variety of project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, members of the public, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
Write and coordinate proposals and reports tailored to specific project requirements.
Manage project tasks and deliverables related to Environmental Programs and/or Provincial and Federal Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
Conduct desktop studies to support regulatory requirements for various developments.
Develop and implement consultation programs with a focus on diverse stakeholders.
Communicate and liaise effectively with project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and the public.
Work with a group of professionals across Canada, focusing on environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance.
Build on previous client relationships to provide opportunities and support development.
Actively participate in key client meetings and professional/industrial organizations to promote Stantec.
Collaborate with Key Account Managers and Sector Leaders to achieve excellent business outcomes.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong listening and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary project teams.
Capacity to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
Proven project management skills, delivering quality results on time and within budget.
Willingness to undertake periodic short‑term, regional travel.
Self‑motivated with excellent technical writing and public speaking skills.
Experience in mentoring rising talent.
Education and Experience A university degree or post‑undergraduate college diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field is required.
Minimum 15 years of experience in project management for environmental programs, with a focus on energy, power, infrastructure, mining, industrial, and/or community development projects.
Previous experience in undertaking tasks such as the Class EA process, environmental impact assessments, environmental programs, environmental compliance, and/or coordinating the acquisition of permits and approvals.
Preferred Qualifications and Assets
Consulting experience.
Expertise in community consultations, securing site access, and regulatory approvals, including with Indigenous communities.
Project management experience, familiarity with project financing, maintaining billable work, and ensuring successful project deliveries.
Active participation in strategic planning and execution, including pre‑positioning for key projects and developing RFP responses.
Work Environment Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay and Compensation Pay Range:
Locations in Lower Mainland– BC, GTA&Ottawa Ontario: $128,300.00– $178,300.00 annually.
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
