Under the direction of the Chair of Apprenticeship, Automotive and Mechanical Trades, the Professor will be required to teach courses in the Automotive Department within ACCE. The role involves facilitating learning, providing an effective learning environment for all students, and guiding student success as a part‑time instructor for a 4‑month contract.Responsibilities

Consult with program and course administrators, faculty members, advisory committees, potential employers and students on course design, revision, and updating. Define learning outcomes, evaluate and validate them. Specify and approve learning approaches and necessary resources, incorporating educational technologies to meet 21st‑Century student needs.Review and revise curriculum; participate in professional development during non‑teaching periods. Deliver regular instruction during Fall, Winter, or Summer terms in home department or across departments. Ensure students are aware of course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques. Provide tutoring and academic advising for students in and out of class.Utilize available resources, including educational technologies, to create an effective learning environment. Evaluate student progress/achievement and assume responsibility for overall assessment of student work within assigned courses. Develop and create a conducive learning environment for all students.Provide academic leadership by participating in curriculum and departmental/faculty meetings. Liaise with community members, engage in program, department, school or faculty, and college promotion. Remain current in the field and maintain awareness of emerging trends and practices related to higher‑education teaching and learning.Model the college values of caring, learning, integrity, and respect. Qualifications

Required qualifications in one of the following trades: Truck and Coach Technician (310T) Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer (310B) Automotive Service Technician (310S) Minimum 5 years in the field of Apprenticeship Training, Automotive and Mechanical Trades. Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (or equivalent), preferably in a postsecondary setting; considered an asset.Experience designing, revising, and updating courses including curriculum and program development.
