Summer Media Student, Ahuntsic North

We are seeking a student who is interested in working with media and technology at Westview Baptist Church over the summer. The position will be 31 hours per week with a planned start date of June 23rd for 9 weeks. This position is provided by the Canada Summer Jobs grant. Overview of Church and Community Westview is located on the southwest corner of London. We have both an online and an in‑person worship community. We are a very active church, friendly, welcoming, and encourage intergenerational worship opportunities as well as age‑specific ministry.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Must be between 15 to 30 years old

Must have a completed Police Vulnerable Sector Check if 18 or older.

Prefer a student who plans to, or is studying in areas relating to working with media, photography and/or technology.

Must have access to a computer and the internet as the employee may need to work from home

Role and Responsibilities

Prepare and run media presentations for Sundays, including live streaming the church service.

Learn to use the sound and AV system and varying computer systems and programs

Database input

Create videos to be shared online or during Sunday mornings

Research new media that can be incorporated into use

Take photos to promote church activities, including summer camp

Preferred Skills

Prefer experience with photography, using social media and computer technology

Respect basic Christian principles and Westview Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith and submit to the authority therein.

Prefer a student who plans to or is studying in areas relating to working with media, photography and/or technology.
