This is a full-time permanent position working on-site in our Ottawa branch and supporting our Lead Project manager with various Hvac and construction projects. Company vehicle will be provided.

Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and close-out of HVAC retrofit and construction projects. The role provides technical leadership, ensures project profitability, and maintains strong coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver projects on time, on budget, and in compliance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Coordination
Review and interpret specifications, drawings, and requirements for HVAC retrofit and construction projects.
Assume full project management responsibility over project execution, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Provide functional leadership and technical guidance to technicians, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.
Procurement & Logistics
Order materials, equipment, and services required for project execution.
Manage deliveries to ensure timely availability of materials aligned with project schedules.
Coordinate logistics between suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams.
Subcontractor & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and quality standards.
Maintain effective communication with clients, internal departments, and field teams.
Facilitate collaboration to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
Site & Schedule Management
Attend and actively participate in site meetings.
Develop, monitor, and adjust project schedules as required.
Ensure progress aligns with project timelines and contractual commitments.
Financial & Performance Management
Track project costs, job profitability, and financial performance.
Monitor budgets, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as required.
Contribute to maintaining and improving overall project margins, consistent with business objectives.
Project Close-Out
Perform project close-out procedures, including documentation, handover, and final deliverables.
Ensure completion of all required reports and turnover documentation (e.g., O&M manuals where applicable).
Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience
Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in project management within HVAC, mechanical systems, or construction environments.
Post-secondary education in mechanical systems, HVAC, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
PMP certification or equivalent designation considered an asset.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of HVAC systems and construction practices.
Knowledge of Natural Gas, Propane, and Oil systems considered an asset.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and equipment requirements.
Capable of supporting equipment selection and specifications.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently.
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Other Requirements
Ability and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
Valid driver’s license (if applicable to role).
