Your Opportunity An opportunity exists for a Senior Project Manager - Water Resources to join a highly technical and collaborative team delivering complex water resources work across Canada. Our projects include drainage and stormwater management, flood mitigation, natural asset solutions, master planning, and climate resilience, spanning the full project lifecycle—from planning and analysis through design and implementation. We are seeking an experienced engineer and project manager motivated by challenging problems, impactful engineering, and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the continued evolution of a growing, highly regarded practice.
You will play a key role on a forward-thinking team in shaping resilient water resources infrastructure solutions, advancing innovative practices (including digital tools and analytics), and strengthening client relationships. This is an prospect to contribute to a high-performing, forward-thinking team while helping mentor the next generation of water resources professionals to teams across the company.
Your Key Responsibilities
Work under minimal supervision as a project lead to apply advanced practical and theoretical knowledge for water resources projects and relevant components of multidisciplinary projects
Responsible for successfully developing and delivering work plans, to achieve scope, schedule, and contractual obligations, and proactively identify and manage delivery risk
Responsible for exercising independent judgement and initiative to resolve complex problems
Oversee and guide work, providing mentorship through review and discussion
Provide technical direction and review for hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling
Prepare and review technical reports, memoranda, and design documentation
Conduct and/or coordinate quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects and facilitate independent technical review of projects by others
Manage projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams
Accountable for making decisions on large projects.
Collaboration with multiple business lines to develop opportunities
Lead major pursuits and proposal submissions, including scope development, methodology, budgeting, and technical review
Independently liaise with other disciplines as required to support project delivery and pursuits
Perform business development tasks and collaborate with staff to increase project wins and develop long-lasting relationships with clients, municipalities, and review agencies
Assist business leaders in project revenue forecasting
Client facing team representative for business development and positioning activities including meetings, presentations, industry networking events, and other correspondence
Continuously build a strong understanding of the water resources sector and the organization’s business model and engage existing and prospective clients to understand their needs, and promote service offerings to drive sustained commercial success
Support Regional Sector Lead (RSL), Engineering Discipline Lead (EDL), and Business Centre Practice Lead (BCPL) with knowledge and recommendations regarding the water resources sector as it pertains to key market drivers, trends and major opportunities
Assist with hiring decisions and team growth; provide mentoring and coaching for future leaders, including development of succession plans for key positions.
Representative project types include:
Climate change vulnerability, and natural hazard assessments to support resilient infrastructure planning and design
Flood risk assessment and mitigation studies for urban and riverine systems
Drainage and stormwater management design in support of transportation and linear infrastructure projects
Integrated roadway, watercourse crossing, and structure modifications to address hydraulic constraints and flooding concerns with inputs from fluvial geomorphology and ecology
Stormwater management planning and design in support of land development and municipal growth initiatives for public sector and institutional clients
Planning efforts at the watershed and subwatershed scale to supporting water resources infrastructure planning and asset management
Hydrologic and hydraulic assessments to support environmental approvals, feasibility studies, and detailed design
