Geroquip has been a leader in its industry since 1984. The company specializes in the distribution of concrete-related construction equipment, products and materials. For more than 40 years, we have been offering a wide range of concrete products from suppliers chosen according to their expertise and competence. Reporting to the Director General and in collaboration with the team in place, the selected person will be required to actively participate in the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Make purchases (building materials, consumables, equipment, etc.) by entering into agreements with our partner suppliers in order to maintain and develop strong and strategic relationships
Optimize costs and lead times while guaranteeing the quality of the products and services received
Verify and approve invoices related to equipment purchases and rentals in collaboration with the Accounting Department
Participate in the management of the inventory of equipment and materials by project (deliveries-returns) by ensuring the compliance and accuracy of the information entered into the Ogasys ERP system
Follow up throughout the process from contact with suppliers to quality control and delivery
Assist buyers in the coordination of tasks related to product development (follow-ups, research, meetings)
Work in close communication with other members of the purchasing team; Acquire diversified product knowledge and pass on knowledge to others.
Liaise between purchasing and suppliers by following up with them and monitoring delivery dates, while demonstrating interpersonal skills to ensure the continuity of good relations with our partners.
Perform price updates in the EPR
Proactively follow up
Make inventory adjustments as needed
Approval of freight and brokerage invoices
Profile
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Excellent analytical, priority and organizational skills
Ability to make decisions quickly in a changing environment
Skilled negotiator
Rigor and meticulousness
Ability to work under pressure
Requirements
DEC or DEP in administration, logistics, procurement or equivalent
5 years' experience in a similar position
Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite
Excel expert level
Knowledge of Ogasys software (an asset)
Experience in the construction and/or distribution industry (an asset)
