Phlebotomist / Medical Office Assistant (Ottawa), Ahuntsic North

We are a centrally located, up-and-coming, quick-paced multidisciplinary medical complex. Our ideal team member is reliable, organized, and empathetic and can multitask and manage the demands of a busy medical front office. We are looking for a casual medical lab technician with the ability to draw blood. Daily tasks will include patient communication, scheduling appointments, data entry, receiving payments, and document preparation. The candidate must have previous experience working with the public in a similar role.Responsibilities&Daily Duties

Perform and record results for various lab tests done at the clinic such as urinalysis Enter data in the medical software program Collect blood samples from patients Practice infection control standards while working with patients and equipment at all times Keep phlebotomy cart and station well-organized at all timesCollects and organizes documents as required Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient Practice proper patient identification, labeling vials properly Qualifications&Skills

Bilingual (English and French), additional language is an asset Diploma in Phlebotomy Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples, and use of relevant medical equipment and material Experience with effective puncture techniques Minimum of one (1) year Laboratory experience specific to phlebotomy techniquesExcellent customer service skills and experience Excellent communication and time management skills Professional, courteous, friendly disposition, and very patient demeanor Empathetic and caring disposition Multi-tasker and ability to work in an environment that can be demanding General office administrative skills (i.e., faxing, scanning, photocopying)Basic computer and typing skills Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $20.00 per hour Work Location: In person
