Department: People and Culture Programs Position Type: Student Salary Range: $17.60– $27.00 per hour Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24 Start Date: June 15, 2026 Contract Length: 3 months About the Position
This student position offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced HR environment, supporting a wide range of functions while gaining valuable industry knowledge. The successful candidate will assist the People&Technology team in client service, employee onboarding, employee engagement, recruitment, records management, labour relations, and event coordination. Responsibilities
Assist the People&Technology team with general office operations and preparation of materials and communications. Organize employee files and records, and support the planning and execution of People&Technology events and initiatives. Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to People&Technology policies and procedures. Daily Tasks
Human Resources inbox management Voicemail management Client walk‑in support letters of employment Workday contact information update Employment verification requests – letters and external requests SIN and work permit entry Employee file review Legal requests for employee files Office supply ordering (grant, toy, Amazon, bookstore, paper order, Ergo Canada)Sending probationary memos to full‑time employees Updating and maintaining the website FAQ’s Mail pick‑up Updating office signage when the office will be closed HR boardroom booking management HR collaboration meeting room booking management Qualifications
Currently studying at Algonquin College within Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. Self‑starter who can adapt quickly to a demanding, fast‑paced environment. Strong technical and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment regarding private and secure information. Previous office work experience considered an asset. Previous Human Resources experience considered an asset. Employment Stipulations
This position is funded through the College Student Employment Program (CSEP). Applicants must be eligible for CSEP, be enrolled full‑time in a program at Algonquin College, and meet all CSEP eligibility criteria. Candidates must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons/refugees and must demonstrate financial need by successfully applying for OSAP or out‑of‑province financial aid funding.Benefits
