Completion of a diploma from a 3-year technical program OR an undergraduate university degree in Engineering 5-8+ years of experience within shipbuilding, marine, or shipbuilding design. Insight Global is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join the team with one of our largest shipbuilding clients full-time. The successful candidate will sit out of their Ottawa office full time and will be responsible for the following: Develop and interpret detailed 3D models of piping and HVAC systems using ShipConstructor.Identify, communicate, and help resolve integration and functionality issues within piping and HVAC systems. Verify model accuracy to ensure alignment with project specifications, classification requirements, and applicable standards. Review legacy vessel documentation and assess approved engineering changes to maintain accurate project records.Collaborate with structural, outfitting, and electrical teams to avoid clashes and support smooth system integration. Use ShipConstructor for daily modeling tasks and Navisworks for 3D model review and coordination. Interpret engineering drawings, class rules, and marine standards to support design development.We may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with the screening, assessment, or selection of potential applicants for this position.
