Design, revise, and update courses for the General Carpentry Apprenticeship program within the Algonquin Center for Construction Excellence. Consult with program and course administrators, faculty members, advisory committees, employers, and students. Define learning outcomes and evaluate and validate them.Specify and approve learning approaches, resources, and educational technologies. Incorporate educational technologies to meet the needs of 21st-century students. Review, revise curriculum, and participate in professional development during non‑teaching periods. Deliver regularly scheduled instruction in Fall, Winter, or Summer terms.Ensure student awareness of course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques. Provide tutoring and academic advising for students. Create a learning environment that effectively uses available resources, including educational technologies. Evaluate student progress and take responsibility for assessment of student work.Participate in curriculum and departmental/faculty meetings. Liaise with community members and engage in program, department, school or faculty, and college promotion. Maintain awareness of emerging trends and practices in teaching and learning. 403A Red Seal General Carpenter Certificate of Qualification. Minimum five (5) years of experience in General Carpentry. Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience, or equivalent, preferably in postsecondary setting (asset). Industry experience in Commercial Estimating, Commercial Form Work, Plans, Specifications and Codes (asset).Compensation&Benefits
