As we look to the future, we remain committed to: - Innovation and conservation - Reducing waste and promoting biodiversity - Creating a more sustainable, inclusive, and friendlier world for all We are currently looking to fill a full‑time, permanent position for a Maintenance Manager in our Facilities Department at our Leamington ON facility. What You'll Do: Maintenance Operations & Planning - Oversee all aspects of service and maintenance. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize progress of service tickets, works with the Sr. Facilities Manager to determine urgency of tickets and when to escape the issue. - Develop weekly short‑range schedule for maintenance team as well as long term planning when required. - Provide support and ensure maintenance team have clear task, proper support and materials to complete tickets optimally and most efficiently. - Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the smooth execution of multiple service requests. - Ensure that all service and maintenance projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget. - Develop and maintain a structured preventative maintenance program for all major farm infrastructure and equipment. - Track preventative maintenance completion rates and report performance trends. - Develop weekly maintenance performance reporting including backlog, PM completion and major equipment issues. - Monitor equipment reliability and recurring failure trends and implement corrective actions. - Lead root cause analysis following significant equipment failures and document findings. - Work with operations leadership to prioritize maintenance activities based on production risk. - Establish maintenance quality standards to reduce repeat repairs. - Plan, delegate, and lead their team to improve performance, productivity, and standards of quality through motivation and encouragement. - Effectively collaborate and communicate with the Facilities Manager and Departmental Managers to provide details, updates, resolve issues, etc. on operational issues/concerns. - Develop and maintain all SOPs associated with equipment/procedures and conduct in person training with the team when needed. - Coordinate in person meetings with the team to communicate changes/updates, policies/procedures, and appropriately address any questions and concerns in a timely and effective manner. - Work closely with their team, ensures they receive the training and coaching required to succeed in the position. Employee Administration and People & Culture Collaboration - Approve or deny employee time off, expense reports, and timecards within deadlines required to ensure smooth completion of payroll. - Manage employee time off and schedules to ensure full coverage of the department. - Collaborate with People & Culture and Management for employee relations, incidents, disciplinary actions, and terminations if necessary. - Conducts the annual performance review process for the Maintenance team members and collaborates with the leadership team to deliver performance feedback. Compliance & General Responsibilities - Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures. - This job description highlights the main components but is not inclusive of other activities that may be required. What You Bring: - Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising teams; maintenance planner/scheduler experience is an asset. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret data effectively. - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. - Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and active listening) with the ability to work effectively across all levels and with external stakeholders. - Proven leadership abilities in a fast‑paced environment with strict deadlines. - Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills, with a focus on prioritization and follow‑through. - Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and a high degree of confidentiality. - Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with a customer service–focused approach. - Excellent negotiation, diplomacy, and conflict resolution skills. - Proficient in CMMS, ERP systems, KPI portals, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an asset. - Knowledge of workplace regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements. - Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and ongoing learning. - Adaptable to a fast‑growing, evolving environment. - Team player with a high level of accountability and professionalism. - Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and extended hours, as required. - Valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle, as needed. - Ability to create and deliver presentations effectively. - Spanish is considered an asset. - Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. What To Expect: - This is an active role, and time may be spent in office and at job sites. - The Maintenance Manager reports to work Monday‑Friday, weekend and after hours may be required at times. - This position is an active role and requires sitting, standing, walking, crouching throughout the day. - There may be an occasional need for some heavy lifting (when needed), must be able to lift up to 30lbs. - Required to visit all locations where temperatures can vary from cold to hot/humid.
