Logistics Coordinator (Wheatley)

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to oversee logistics operations across our three plant locations. This role plays a critical part in coordinating transportation, managing shipping documentation, and ensuring the efficient movement of materials and finished products. As a newly created position, this is an exciting opportunity for someone who is proactive and motivated to build processes, shape the role, and make a lasting impact on our operations. - Reports to: Vice President of Operations - Collaborates with: Plant Managers, Drivers, Warehouse Teams, and Administration - In person: Wheatley Location - Able to travel to our Tilbury & London locations Transportation Planning - Develop and manage daily and weekly delivery schedules - Coordinate with plant teams and drivers to optimize routes - Plan loads, vehicle allocation, and maintenance scheduling Administrative & Compliance - Manage all shipping and receiving documentation (BOLs, POs, manifests, etc.) - Ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper record-keeping - Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams - Monitor and maintain compliance with MTO, DOT, IFTA, and safety regulations - Track transportation costs and report variances - Support driver scheduling, time-off coordination, and recruitment Relationship Building & Collaboration - Act as the main point of contact for logistics operations - Lead weekly coordination meetings with plant managers - Build strong relationships with internal teams and customer receiving departments Operational Support - Assist with loading/unloading when required - Support shipping/receiving teams across all locations - Help resolve day-to-day logistics challenges Process Development - Identify and implement process improvements - Develop and document logistics procedures - Drive efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives Cost Management - Monitor fuel, freight, and maintenance expenses - Source competitive freight quotes - Recommend cost-saving strategies without impacting service quality Skills & Qualifications - 3–5 years experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain - Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and logistics systems - Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards - Ability to work independently and take initiative Assets: - Experience managing multi-site logistics operations - AZ license or previous AZ driving experience - Forklift experience Compensation and Benefits: - Overtime pay provided after 44 hours per week. - Health Advantages How to Apply: Interested candidates can submit their resume and cover letter to Join us at H&H; Wood Products and become a part of a dedicated and dynamic team!
