Maintenance Technician (Leamington)

Reports To: Head Grower, Head of Maintenance Days/Hours: Full time, flexibility is required as hours will vary based on the season Compensation Type: Hourly/Compensation to be based on experience Location: Heritage Farms- Staples, Ontario JOB SUMMARY: The Facility Maintenance Technician position is responsible to assist the head grower in the general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance at Cecelia Acres Greenhouse facility in Kingsville, Ont. All work will be done in compliance with OHSA safety rules and regulations. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: - High school or equivalent (Asset) - 1-2 years relevant experience (Required) - Fluent in English and Spanish (Asset), spoken/written - Forklift Certification (Asset will train in house) - WHIMS Training - Legally able to work in Canada QUALIFICATIONS: - Active G Driver’s License. - Appropriate Certifications for the equipment in use. - Great problem-solving skills. - Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures and practices. - Knowledge of safety requirements for the appropriate equipment. - Ability to work flexible shifts in a 24/7/365-day environment - Must provide and wear Steel-Toed Boots - Must have Transportation KEY ACCOUNTABILITES: - Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting repairs and equipment repair as necessary - Implement preventative maintenance measures - Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol - Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.) - Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide - Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.) - Work with Lead technician to solve multifaceted problems. - Complete daily rounds along with check off sheets. - Manually repair tools as needed. - Perform other maintenance duties as requested. WORKPLACE CONDITIONS: - The greenhouse environment can be very hot, humid, moist, or cold for most of the year - The greenhouse setting may have bees, bugs, and pests - Working both independently and with a team - Ability to communicate with all organizational levels is essential PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Monday to Friday - On call - Weekends as needed Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ogufl
