(1 year contract) Junior Payroll Administrator (1 Vacancy) PTI Transformers LP is a leading innovator of transformer technology with expertise in design, manufacture, delivery and servicing of medium and large power transformers using innovative, sustainable and custom-built solutions that bring value and quality to our customers. Role: To support the Payroll Specialist with the hourly compensation and benefits payroll. While ensuring alignment with the Four Pillars, the mission, vision, and the evolving strategic goals of PTI Transformers LP. Role Responsibilities: - Prepare and Process biweekly hourly payroll. - Create and maintain payroll profiles for new employees and ensure they are updated for all employees. - Process payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and other deductions. - Review and validate employee timesheets, contact Supervisors for any missed employees’ time or inaccuracies. - Ensure all wage changes are made accurately and on time for scheduled pay periods. - Reconcile payroll totals and ensure all deductions are made as scheduled. - Follow payroll procedures for terminated employees. - Update and administer benefit payments as required by the Total Compensation Specialist, HR Manager or Corporate Finance Manager. - Ensure accurate processing of sick pay, benefits, and vacation payouts. - Liaise with and Respond to all supervisor and employee questions or concerns. - When required, work as a back-up to respond to Government agencies with regards to hourly payroll - Process Hourly ROE’s and T4’s. - Prepare various reporting requirements as required by the Total Compensation Specialist, HR Manager or Corporate Finance Manager. - Operate as backup for Salary Payroll processing. - Collaborate with HR Department to ensure accurate employee data. - Assist with year-end payroll activities. - Stay current with payroll regulations, standards and work methods. - Adhere to PTI’s Policies and Procedures Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements: - Post-Secondary education or undergraduate in Business Accounting or Human Resources Management and/or a combination of education and experience. Minimum grade 12 diploma. Post-secondary education would be an asset - PCP Designations would be an asset. - Minimum 1 year’ experience processing full cycle payroll or a combination of education and experience. - Demonstrated knowledge of payroll and payroll tax laws required. - Experience in a manufacturing work environment would be an asset. - Previous Payworks experience. - Productive with Excel and have data processing skills. - Experience working in a unionized environment. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, time management, data entry skills and high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. - Work well in a team environment. - Able to maintain confidential information.
