Welder(Journeyperson) (Leduc)

NOV has a job opening for a Journeyperson Welder to join our team in Leduc, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for working under general supervision to perform welding tasks such as maintaining, fabricating, manufacturing and repairing oilfield equipment. They will also be responsible for completing tasks through written and/or oral instructions and to follow established procedures. Essential Job Responsibilities: - Welding (MIG, TIG, Flux Arc, etc.) - Preparation for assigned welding tasks, including grinding - Hard surfacing - Cutting components with a torch, plasma or saw as necessary - Silver soldering - Use and maintain tools, material handling equipment and welding equipment - Fitting and measuring materials - Daily overhead crane usage after course completion - Perform other duties as assigned Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience): - Journeyperson certification is required - 3 – 5 years’ experience preferred - Overhead Crane Course is an asset but will train in-house if necessary - Experience with basic tools required Technical Requirements (Software or Program Knowledge Needed): - Knowledge of welding machines & associated equipment Competencies Required: - Integrity and Trust - Customer Focus - Ethics and Values - Action Oriented - Functional/Technical Skills HSE Requirements (Training and Physical Requirements): - Shop environment orientation (exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, propane storage) and yard environment (building locations, processes); - Squatting, bending, reaching, and walking (further details to be reviewed on JHA); - PPE training for possible noise exposure, mists/vapors, gloves, safety glasses and steel toed boots; - NOV in-house forklift training if required; - WHMIS training; - NOV in-house Overhead/Jib crane training; - Hand & Power tool safety training; - This position is safety sensitive.
