Job Title: General Laborer Job Description This role involves supporting a pipe coating production operation by performing a variety of physical, hands-on tasks in a safety-sensitive environment. You will operate equipment, handle materials, assist with the coating process, and maintain a clean and organized work area while actively participating in safety and training programs. All new hires start working indoors and may be required to use power tools and handle heavy materials. Responsibilities Operate control panels to ensure the pipe coating process remains consistent and within required parameters. Roll pipe across racks safely and efficiently to support production flow. Perform quality testing on coated pipe and related products to verify they meet standards and specifications. Assist in the application process for pipe coating, including preparation, handling, and finishing tasks. Participate in regular safety and toolbox meetings to stay informed about procedures, hazards, and best practices. Take part in on-the-job training and any additional training provided to enhance skills and knowledge. Maintain proper housekeeping in the assigned work area by cleaning, organizing, and removing debris. Use power tools, primarily grinders, when required to support production and finishing activities. Load and unload materials and products as needed to support general production and supply chain activities. Assist with picking, moving, and staging materials to ensure efficient workflow. Work collaboratively with team members to complete tasks and meet production targets. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in this safety-sensitive role, including proper use of tools and equipment. Perform other duties as required to support operations and production needs. Essential Skills Experience using power tools, particularly grinders, in an industrial or production environment. Experience working with or around heavy equipment in a manufacturing or similar setting. Previous labor experience within a manufacturing space or comparable industrial environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks. Comfort with operating hand tools and basic power tools in a production setting. Strong reliability and consistent attendance to support shift-based operations. Willingness to learn new tasks, processes, and equipment through on-the-job training. Positive attitude and readiness to contribute to a collaborative team setting. Effective communication skills to coordinate with coworkers and follow instructions clearly. Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment. Strong safety mindset appropriate for a safety-sensitive role, including adherence to all safety procedures. Ability to work 10-hour shifts on a rotating schedule of two weeks on days and two weeks on nights. Ability to commute to a worksite that is not transit accessible. Experience in supply chain or yard operations, including working around indoor and outdoor environments. Comfort working in a unionized environment and willingness to pay union dues. All new hires begin working indoors, with some positions later supporting supply chain activities outdoors. The site is not transit accessible, so personal transportation is required. You will work 10-hour shifts Monday to Friday, with a rotation of two weeks on days (7:30 . to 5:30 and two weeks on nights (6:00 . to 4:30 , and there is sometimes the potential for optional weekend overtime. Shift premiums apply for afternoon and weekend shifts.
