Payroll System Analyst
Full time, Permanent– Nisku, AB Michels Canada is seeking a Payroll Systems Analyst to join our team. As a Subject Matter Expert for the Trimble Construction Payroll Module, you will support the implementation of Workday in partnership with the Global ERP Team. You will work closely with Business Analysts and IT teams to test, integrate, and optimize new applications within our ERP environment. This position is based in Nisku and reports directly to the Payroll Manager.Responsibilities
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and take action to correct unsafe conditions. Act as the primary point of contact for testing new product applications within Viewpoint.Execute and coordinate payroll testing for new and existing product applications. Ensure all new applications meet or exceed applicable government legislation and regulatory requirements. Partner with Business Analysts and HRIS Administrators to ensure systems and applications comply with legislative standards, internal controls, audit requirements, and company expectations.Develop, maintain, and document testing protocols and operational processes. Provide backup support to payroll team members as required, supporting both field and office operations. Uphold company culture and core values by adhering to Michels Canada’s Standards and Policies and working with others to maintain a positive and skilled work environment.Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum five (5) years of payroll‑related experience, including full‑cycle payroll, audit management, analysis and reporting. Experience supporting or participating in ERP system implementations. Experience with Trimble/Viewpoint ERP is considered an asset. Payroll Certification (e.g., NPI’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner, PCP) is considered an asset.Experience with Workday preferred. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
