Description
Production Supervisor As Production Supervisor you will supervise and coordinate the activities of 40‑75 production and operation workers, such as assemblers, electricians, inspectors, and precision workers, ensuring that production schedules are created and completed on time, safely, and within budget. You will also be responsible for maintaining safety, quality, and productivity. Key Responsibilities - Direct the manufacturing workforce to achieve production goals. - Enforce safety and sanitation regulations and ensure strict adherence to Alberta and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety guidelines. - Anticipate production obstacles, manage team and stakeholder communication to overcome them. - Provide leadership and ownership of product quality while consulting with Quality staff and Engineers on quality issues. - Resolve worker problems, complaints, and production issues by consulting with management or subordinates. - Motivate employees to increase morale, worker efficiency, and production rates. - Process and approve hourly timesheets and correct exceptions promptly. - Monitor and assess employee performance, attendance, and scheduling. - Ensure work orders are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. - Coordinate operations and activities within and between departments with other supervisors. - Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to current employees or pair new ones with experienced workers for training. - Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records/reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs to meet schedule deadlines. - Review and provide feedback on manufacturing engineering packages. - Perform all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls/Silent‑Aire LIMITED PARTNERSHIP safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code. Required Qualifications - 3+ years of experience as a production supervisor. - Journeyperson electrician. - Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse, and transportation management. - Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control. - Knowledge of local and federal regulations including AOHS and Employment Standards Code. - Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization. - Strong customer service orientation. - Experience with safe practices and processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product. - Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, customers, contractors, and industry peers. - Strict adherence to safety policies (wear protective equipment). Shift hours are Monday‑Thursday 6:15pm–5:45am. Preferred Qualifications - University degree or diploma in a related field. - Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing. - First Aid skills and/or certificates.
