Designer Draftsperson - Senior (Nisku)

About the Role We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Designer Draftsperson to join our team. Working closely with other engineering & drafting team members, the Senior Draftsperson will perform duties related to equipment design including: design of pressure vessels, producing fabrication drawings with all necessary details and bill of materials, creating fabrication drawings of various steel structures, producing schematics and other responsibilities as requested. Projects include conventional oil & gas and energy processing equipment and facilities. You will bring strong technical expertise, practical fabrication knowledge, and the ability to translate engineering concepts into accurate and complete building packages. You will have a high level of self-motivation, collaboration and initiative in your work to meet the needs of clients. We are looking for team-oriented individuals who can also work independently with robust problem-solving and communication skills, and who work well in an entrepreneurial environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed design and fabrication drawings for modular systems and equipment using AutoCAD Produce PFDs, P&IDs; and equipment layouts for proposals Prepare complete fabrication drawing packages, including all required views, dimensions, and specifications Design and draft pressure vessels (Separators, Heat Exchangers, Heaters, Towers, etc.) in accordance with applicable codes and standards Produce fabrication drawings for structural steel, skids, and related components, including platforms, ladders, piping supports, and other related items Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability Review and check drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project and industry standards Provide guidance and mentorship to junior drafters, as applicable Support continuous improvement of drafting standards, processes, and templates Perform additional duties as required to support project execution Education / Training Design/drafting technology diploma from recognized post-secondary institution, or other equivalent technical education or training Registration or eligibility for registration with ASET preferred Experience 8+ years of progressive drafting experience in the oil & gas or energy sector required Proven experience designing pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and modular process equipment Strong knowledge of steel fabrication and structural detailing Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, TEMA R&C;, CSA, API, etc.) is considered an asset Strong understanding of fabrication processes and shop practices Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment Strong organizational, communication and collaboration skills is required Self-motivated and detail oriented Additional Information This position is based in our office in Nisku, Alberta Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Benefits Dental care Disability insurance Employee assistance program Extended health care Life insurance In office parking Paid time off RRSP match Vision care Work Location In person #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pqvym
