Live-in Caretaker Couple or Independent Contractor (Year-round duties with FREE housing) Rock Lake United Church Camp & Rock Lake Campground @ Elko, BC Permanent Part time (Seasonal) Contract Position Primary Duties Report to designated members of the Rock Lake United Church Camp Society. Maintain yearly occupancy at the residence provided at Rock Lake United Church Camp. Comply with site Rules & Regulations, Caretakers Contract & Caretakers Duties. Preferred candidate will have Christian beliefs and the following qualifications: Grade 12 graduate or equivalent Previous caretaking experiences an asset but not necessary Some basic maintenance skills (carpentry, electrical, plumbing). Trades or contracting skills are an asset. Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills Ability to complete required paperwork Class 5 Driver’s license Basic computer & cell phone skills Ability to work with Board members, campers, renters, youth and hired contractors. Appreciation of nature and the outdoors Contract Criteria: Yearly accommodation at Rock Lake United Church Camp with compensation. Negotiable contract with 5-year commitment with a first year probational contract. Candidate encouraged to find additional winter employment in the area and During times of employment during the site open months (May-Oct.) the Caretakers’ representative must be on site when the caretaker cannot be on site. Approved candidates must agree to having a Criminal Record Check for employment and yearly United church camps. Salary (negotiable) 21, 000-$27,000 with Free Housing ($55,000 + compensation package).
