Part Time High School STEM Teacher (Champion)

HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER HOPE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL Competition #PLSD-2210 Hope Christian School is seeking a passionate and innovative High School STEM Teacher to join our faith-based learning community. This position offers an exciting chance to teach Science 14, Asynchronous STEM courses, and complementary option classes while designing and delivering engaging, inquiry-based programming across science, technology, and mathematics disciplines. The successful candidate will foster meaningful student learning in both synchronous and asynchronous environments through interactive online instruction delivered primarily via Zoom, utilizing tools such as breakout rooms and polling to enhance student engagement. Responsibilities also include developing organized course modules and assessments within the Canvas Learning Management System, providing timely and data-informed feedback to support student growth and achievement, managing digital classroom logistics, and collaborating with the STEM department to ensure curriculum alignment and instructional excellence. The successful applicant will maintain proactive, Christ-centered communication with students and families, contributing to a supportive and faith-based learning environment. This is a part time (0.5 FTE), temporary, maternity leave replacement position to commence the first day of the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education with a major in STEM and possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (Interim or Permanent). Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience implementing the Alberta Program of Studies and Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) within both synchronous and asynchronous learning settings. Proficiency with Zoom and the Canvas LMS will be considered strong assets. A current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check is required for this position.
