Purpose of the Position: Our client is seeking a dynamic HR & Safety Coordinator to play a vital role in fostering a safe, welcoming, organized, and purpose-driven environment that supports the mission of the company and its partnership with Bible League Canada. This position is responsible for supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, and ongoing support of staff and volunteers while ensuring all individuals are properly trained and equipped to work safely and effectively. Through community outreach, HR coordination, onboarding, safety leadership, and employee support, this role helps create a positive and supportive workplace culture aligned with the clients’ values. Working closely with leadership, the HR & Safety Coordinator contributes to volunteer growth, staff development, operational organization, workplace compliance, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities Human Resources & Volunteer Support - Support recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for staff and volunteers. - Coordinate applicant communication, scheduling, onboarding documentation, and HR administration. - Maintain accurate and confidential employee, volunteer, training, and compliance records. - Provide support and training for HR systems, including Employee Hero. - Support employee and volunteer engagement, retention, and appreciation initiatives. - Assist with volunteer placement and ongoing support in collaboration with department leaders. Safety & Compliance - Coordinate workplace safety training and onboarding. - Promote safe work practices and compliance with workplace policies and procedures. - Maintain safety records, incident reporting, WCB documentation, and training certifications. - Coordinate First Aid training and certification renewals. - Assist leadership in identifying and addressing workplace safety concerns. Community & Administrative Support - Support volunteer recruitment through community outreach and partnerships. - Represent the company professionally within the community. - Prepare onboarding materials, training resources, and internal communications. - Provide general administrative support related to HR and safety functions. Qualifications & Skills - Experience in Human Resources, Safety, Administration, or Volunteer Coordination preferred. - Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism. - Experience with onboarding, training coordination, mentoring and HR systems is an asset. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
