Shop Mechanic Coaldale

Role Overview: Responsible for efficiently repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting and servicing a variety of on and off-highway equipment. Key Responsibilities: Safety · Work safely to ensure the safety of themselves and those around them · Report all incidents and near misses, assist with investigation and corrective action · Complete all Field Level Hazard Assessments prior to the start of each day and update as needed · Complete pre-trip inspections prior to operating any equipment · Follow all company policies and procedures · Wear all PPE for the tasks being completed · Maintain a high housekeeping standard · Report any anticipated loss of work time to supervisor · Refrain from participating in violence or harassment · Report to work ‘fit for duty’ · Ensure all Hazard Assessments, Secure Operating Procedure and Protected Work Practices are reviewed, and proper training is completed prior to completing any recent tasks. Administrative · Ensure timesheets are completed accurately and handed in on a regular basis · Ensure fuel is being entered as required · Ensure work orders are completed with detailed service notes Operations · Perform diagnostic, repairs and preventative maintenance for a variety of equipment · Perform CVIP Inspections · Work on all components, including engines, electrical controls and systems, power train, hydraulics, brakes, steering, suspension, transmissions, fueling and other systems · Perform basic and complex diagnosis of systems through the use of diagnostic scanning tools, computer software and traditional methods · Communicate with Shop Foreman on parts required to complete tasks · Electronically document all work completed and parts used · Use a variety of hand, power and pneumatic tools · Basic operation of all piece of equipment, ability to drive a standard Knowledge · Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or equivalent experience · Able to understand written and verbal instructions in English · Use of a cell phone with the ability to be trained on multiple apps This is not an all-inclusive list but a general guideline of the responsibilities for this position.
