Mobile Crane Operator / Yard (Claresholm)

Job Overview Structural Precast is looking for a reliable, safety-focused Crane Operator / Yard Personnel / Precast Installer to join our team. This position includes a mix of yard work, crane operation, loading and unloading precast products, and assisting with the installation of precast concrete components on job sites. The ideal candidate has experience operating cranes or heavy equipment, understands safe rigging and lifting practices, and is comfortable working both in an industrial yard and on active construction sites. Responsibilities - Operate cranes and yard equipment to lift, move, load, unload, and position precast concrete products. - Safely rig loads using chains, slings, hooks, spreader bars, and other lifting equipment. - Load and unload trucks according to shipping and project requirements. - Move, stage, and organize precast products within the yard. - Assist with the installation of precast concrete products on job sites. - Guide and position precast panels, stairs, landings, walls, beams, or other components during installation. - Work with crane operators, installers, truck drivers, site supervisors, and other trades to complete installs safely and efficiently. - Read and follow basic installation drawings, layout information, and supervisor direction. - Use hand tools, power tools, leveling equipment, grout, shims, hardware, and connection materials as required. - Inspect rigging, lifting equipment, and crane components before use. - Follow all company safety procedures, site rules, lifting plans, and fall protection requirements. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and work area. - Report equipment issues, damaged products, site concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors. - Support production, shipping, and installation crews as needed. Qualifications - Previous crane operating, rigging, precast installation, construction, or heavy equipment experience preferred. - Experience in precast concrete, construction, manufacturing, or industrial yard work is an asset. - Crane operator certification is an asset. - Rigging, fall protection, aerial lift, forklift, loader, or telehandler certification is an asset. - Ability to read basic drawings, measurements, or layout information is an asset. - Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. - Comfortable working at heights and on active construction sites. - Physically capable of lifting, climbing, walking, standing, bending, and performing hands-on construction work. - Strong understanding of workplace safety and safe lifting procedures. - Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team. - Valid driver’s licence is preferred. - Must be able to travel to job sites as required.
