Enterprise Risk Management Intern (Levis)

Position Summary

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team at Syntax is seeking a motivated and analytical Summer Student to support the ERM Director and Senior Manager in enhancing risk reporting capabilities for the ERM program, primarily building data visualizations and dashboards from enterprise risk register data and supporting the development and testing of AI agents on Syntax’s internal Generative AI (GenAI) Platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the ERM Director and Senior Manager in analyzing and organizing data from the enterprise risk register and related sources
• Build and enhance data visualizations, dashboards, and presentation-ready graphics to support executive risk reporting
• Transform structured and semi-structured data into clear visual elements that highlight trends, themes, and areas of concern
• Assist in configuring, testing, and refining AI agents within Syntax’s internal Generative AI (GenAI) Platform to support:
• data summarization
• insight generation
• reporting automation
• presentation development
• Collaborate with the ERM team to understand reporting requirements and business questions
• Prepare executive-ready materials, including charts, tables, summaries, and presentation content
• Perform quality checks on data outputs, visualizations, and AI-generated insights to ensure clarity and accuracy

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Risk Management, Finance, or a related discipline
• Experience working with large amounts of data and organizing information into meaningful outputs
• Demonstrated ability to create clear and effective data visualizations from provided datasets
• Familiarity with one or more data visualization tools, such as:
• Power BI
• Tableau
• Excel
• or similar platforms
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information in a transparent business-friendly format
• Comfortable learning new technologies and tools, including AI-enabled platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building dashboards, reports, or executive presentation materials
• Familiarity with data preparation, data transformation, and reporting workflows
• Interest in AI, automation, and business intelligence
• Exposure to Python, SQL, or similar tools for data analysis is an asset
• Interest in enterprise risk management, governance, compliance, or executive reporting
