We are seeking a strategic and relationship-focused individual to join our close-knit team as a Business Development Manager. Summary: The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by managing the sales pipeline, building strong client relationships, and ensuring exceptional customer experience from first conversation to signed contract. This role acts as the client’s advocate during the design and pre-construction phases, ensuring clarity, alignment, and satisfaction throughout the proposal process. Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing Core Capabilities: - Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills - Strong understanding of construction design and estimating alignment - Confidence in presenting proposals and concept plans to clients - High level of organization, attention to detail, and follow-through - Driven by results and motivated by meeting/exceeding sales targets - Problem-solving mindset with strong client advocacy - Reliability, professionalism, and ethical decision-making Job Duties: Sales Process & Targets - Achieve or exceed sales goals by qualifying, nurturing, and converting leads - Conduct sales meetings, site visits, and proposal presentations - Prepare and deliver detailed project proposals and estimates - Track and manage leads and deals through the sales pipeline - Expectation to attend networking events and client meetings after hours as required - Expectation to attend and participate in internal sales meetings and be accountable to weekly activity metics Client Advocacy & Design Vision - Clearly interpret and communicate the client’s wish list, style, and priorities - Ensure design concepts align with site conditions and architectural style - Provide ongoing feedback to design and estimating teams during revisions Presentation & Contract Administration - Ensure presentation boards, mood boards, and printed plans are professionally prepared - Verify that estimates accurately reflect design scope and project details - Track client feedback to support smooth revision cycles - Ensure contracts and change orders accurately represent proposed work - Secure all required signatures and collect payments as outlined Customer Satisfaction & Relationship Management - Maintain high levels of service throughout the sales, design, and pre-construction phases - Communicate LandArt’s value proposition confidently and clearly - Build trust-based, long-term client relationships that drive referrals Requirements: - Experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles - Experience with sales in construction, landscaping, or design-related industries - Degree or certification in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or related discipline - Understanding of construction proposals, drawings, and job costing - Valid Class G Driver’s License (required) - Solid presentation and communication skills - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively - Time management skills with a focus on results and client experience - CRM Experience (Zoho), CoConstruct, Sketchup and EOS familiarity an asset - Time management skills - Speak, read, and write English Key Results Area: - Achieve 100% or greater of target for signed construction proposals - The BDM is accountable for generating a minimum of $2 million in signed sales within the first twelve (12) months of employment, increasing to a minimum annual target of $3 million thereafter.
