Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef - Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Responsibilities - Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards - Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients - Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations - Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts - Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food delivery - Supervise junior kitchen staff when necessary, providing guidance and leadership - Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and communicate shortages to management - Adhere to restaurant policies regarding food safety, hygiene, and proper serving techniques Skills - Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant operations - Supervising experience or leadership skills within a kitchen setting - Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures - Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment - Excellent teamwork and communication skills with a focus on hospitality and service excellence - Familiarity with restaurant management practices and food industry trends - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail - Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Seasonal Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour Expected hours: 36 – 44 per week Perks: - Company events - Company pension - Dental care - Disability insurance - Discounted or free food - Extended health care - Flexible schedule - Life insurance - On-site parking - Store discount - Vision care - Wellness program Application question(s): - Do you currently live in The Kawarthas?
