We are looking for a

Shift Production Manager

in

London, Ontario

for the 9:00 or 11:00 p.m. shift start (Sunday through Thursday). Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will be directly responsible for leading an assigned production shift by working hand in hand with direct reports production supervisors. The role will be accountable for safety on the production line, maximizing production effectiveness by establishing and maintaining standard work, attaining company KPI's (Key Performance Indicators), and developing continuous improvement methods. It focuses on achieving zero accidents, zero quality defects, zero unplanned and controllable downtime and sustainable results through continuous development of our people.

The Day-to-Day

Coaches, counsels, mentors, and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities of first-level supervisors and others within the department.

Ensures compliance with the company's safety programs&standards and fosters an environment that supports an engaged safety culture.

Motivates, directs, hires, coaches and develops a diverse, high-performing team to meet established goals and build organizational capability.

Effectively translates plant goals and objectives to all levels of the organization ensuring alignment on relevant performance data.

Recognizes potential problems with the production schedule and initiates measures to eliminate or reduce their impact.

Helps define&implement short, medium, and long-term actions to improve safety, operating efficiency, quality, and productivity throughout the entire value chain.

Achieves key performance indicators and drives necessary improvement for on-time delivery, productivity, project management, quality, safety, and other key process areas.

Ensures the team is fully cross‑trained and leads direct reports to achieve goals and deliverables.

Promotes&enables professional and technical development of staff.

Assesses Supervisor job performance and provides open feedback.

Leverages continuous improvement tools to eliminate loss, optimize processes, and improve reliability.

Position Requirements

At least 5 years of leadership experience in a related industry with experience managing other professionals.

Proven experience in manufacturing leadership with process-oriented operations.

High school diploma. A degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field is an advantage.

Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing implementation and/or Six Sigma training/certifications with Continuous Improvement tools is highly preferred.

PC proficiency in email, reading/writing reports and creating effective MS Excel spreadsheets.

Working understanding of Quality Management Systems.

Working understanding of Occupational Health&Safety standards and best practices.

Proven leadership expertise through previous production management experience with both people management and resource allocation.

Physical stamina: sitting and standing for long periods, stooping, kneeling, or bending.
