Description
The Opportunity: 12‑hour rotating shift pattern structure (a variation of the DuPont Shift Schedule) with a 4‑week rotation between day and night shifts. Apply online by May 28; applications received after that date are not guaranteed consideration.
Hourly Rate: $38.50
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life
Contributes to a healthy work environment while maintaining high food safety standards
Maintain, monitor, test, and log all steam generating requirements by operation code
Maintain, monitor, and check all refrigeration equipment requirements to TSSA Standards
Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations
Interface with necessary Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective or legal requirements
Carry out oral/printed work requests and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion utilizing a computerized maintenance system
Other responsibilities as required
Directly help the department meet targets and goals while maintaining a healthy and safe work environment
Addresses issues with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
Fulfils all Health&Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS and MSDS requirements
Maintains productivity that meets or exceeds standards
Contributes to the team and the entire facility in a positive way
What You’ll Bring
Minimum of a valid and current certificate as 4th Class Stationary Engineer (certificate holder for minimum of 2 years)
Refrigeration Operator Class B License or higher
Experience working with ammonia cooling and compressed air systems
Experience working with boilers and steam
Able to work shifts on a 24‑hour/7‑day week
Self‑directed, motivated team player open to new technology with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
Full complement of personal/professional hand tools identified for the Food Safety program
Able to communicate with co‑workers, supervisors and lead hands
Able to read and write English
Able to do heavy lifting regularly (up to 50 lbs)
Cooperative, reliable, responsible, and punctual
Knowledge of Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) standards
