Banquet Porter/Server (London)

The Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Suites London, with 180 modern guestrooms and suites, 15,000+ square feet of versatile meeting space and Bentley’s Lounge, is seeking a Banquet Porter/Server to join our team. This individual should be self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills. The role plays a vital part in the set up and execution of banquet events. Setup - Sets up banquet areas in a variety of arrangements including classroom, theatre, boardroom, rounds, cabaret or U-shape. - Revises setups to satisfy last minute changes and/or ads flare to standard buffet or coffee setups. - Checks audio visual equipment to ensure it is functioning properly. Guest Service - Provides ice water, coffee service or luncheons to banquet rooms. - Provides excellent food service – both buffet and plated service. - Reviews function sheets to determine priority of service. - Removes used dishes, cutlery and glassware from the banquet rooms and delivers to stewarding area. - Unloads used dishes, cutlery and glassware brought into stewarding area in the appropriate racks. - Responds to pager/radio requests and delivers extra items to function rooms. Take Down/Turn Around Service - Takes down a variety of setups and stores tables, chairs and other equipment carefully in appropriate areas. - Turns rooms around between functions, re-arranging the setup to conform to function specifications. Skills & Knowledge & Abilities Required: - Qualified and courteous communication skills. - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, maneuver carts and transport items around the hotel quickly and without assistance. - Smart Serve certified. Working Conditions: - Must be able to work 16-30 hours per week - Must be flexible to work all shifts including weekdays, weekends and holidays as required based on hotel functions.
