Join Western University as a Social Foundations Instructor, part of their Faculty of Education. This teaching role convenes on-site during the day to explore critical issues in education through various conceptual lenses.
The Limited Duties Instructor will guide candidates through the Social Foundations course, addressing the historical, political, and legal frameworks that shape education systems. This role seeks to deepen the ability of future educators to critically assess inequities and promote inclusiveness and social justice within educational contexts. Responsibilities include preparing course content and fostering engaging dialogues.
Key Responsibilities:• Deliver specialized course content in line with educational goals • Facilitate discussions on historical and sociological issues • Assess student performance and offer prompt feedback • Collaborate with faculty and staff on course alignment • Maintain an inclusive and respectful learning environment
Requirements:• Master’s degree in education or related fields • K-12 teacher certification eligibility or initiatives • Extensive teaching experience in K-12 or higher education • Clear knowledge of Ontario’s educational landscape and legislation • Proven ability to integrate social justice inteaching
