This role is suited for individuals ranging from junior to senior level experience who are interested in contributing to a wide range of civil construction, mining, infrastructure, and industrial projects across Northern Ontario. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing competitive and accurate project estimates, reviewing specifications and drawings, coordinating pricing and subcontractor quotations, and supporting project planning and tender submissions. This position is ideal for individuals who are analytical, organized, collaborative, and interested in growing their career within a dynamic construction environment.Your Day-to-Day- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements- Prepare quantity take‑offs, cost estimates, and bid submissions for civil, infrastructure, industrial, and mining‑related projects- Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors- Assist with pricing labour, equipment, materials, production rates, and subcontracted work- Participate in site visits, pre‑bid meetings, and project walkthroughs when required- Coordinate with operations, project management, and field personnel during the estimating process- Analyze project risks, opportunities, and constructability considerations- Maintain accurate estimating records, cost databases, and supporting documentation- Assist with bid closing procedures and preparation of tender submission packages- Support project handover meetings between estimating and operations teams- Track addenda, scope changes, and clarifications throughout the tendering process- Communicate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers in a professional manner- Monitor industry trends, material pricing, and market conditions- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)- Perform other related duties as assignedYou Are a Good Fit If You HaveRequired- Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field; OR equivalent industry experience- Valid G class driver’s licence- Strong attention to detail and organization skillsConsidered an Asset- Prior estimating experience in civil construction, mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects- Experience with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bid2Win, HCSS, or similar platforms- Knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, materials, and equipment- Project management or field construction experience- Gold Seal Certification, C.Tech, CET, EIT, or P.Eng designationSkills & Abilities- Ability to review drawings, specifications, and tender documents- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents- Familiarity with public and private sector tendering processes- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office 365 platform, Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil3D, Bid2Win Estimating Software)- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork- Ability to work independently in remote or active construction environments- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to changing operational needs- Understanding of preventative maintenance practices- Strong attention to detail to ensure work quality and compliance are being appropriately monitored through inspections and observations- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients- Professional attitude and strong work ethicWhat We OfferCompensation & Benefits- Pay: $75,000 - $100,000 / year- Extended health, dental, and life insurance- Company pension- Employee & Family Assistance Program- Company events- Ongoing training and career developmentThe pay range posted reflects base compensation only.
