Position Structural Engineering Student – 4‐month co‐op starting September 2026, Sudbury office. About the Role Hatch is currently looking for a Structural Engineering Student for a 4–month co‐op starting in September 2026. You will support offices globally working from our Sudbury office location. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in the field of Structural Engineering to assist the Structural Discipline. The role is to provide review, analysis and design support, and research of material for the Engineers and other Technologists. What You'll Do Be given opportunities to contribute to complex projects around the world in meaningful ways. Work on problems and gain experience relevant to your field of study in an office environment. Collaborate with diverse teams locally and globally. As the Successful Candidate, You'll Do Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design calculations, material takeoff, literature review, technical specifications, and reports for energy and industrial projects. Use of CAD tools for 2D drawing and 3D model reviews. Provide support for progress reporting and assessment of various ongoing engineering tasks. Interface with staff to support project as necessary. You Bring The successful candidate will be a 3rd or 4th year student working toward a degree in Civil Engineering with specific interest in structural analysis and design. Successful completion of, or enrollment in structural engineering courses is required. Familiarity with CAD/Design software applications such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD. Pro, Micro Station and AutoCAD will be considered an asset. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated writing and oral communication skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software. High regard for job safety and quality work; Must be able to work in a team environment. Extracurricular involvement; enthusiastic and ambitious. Compensation Range: $25.00 – $33.00. At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
