General Summary Provide customers with prompt, knowledgeable HVAC, and courteous service. Essential Job Functions Greet customers promptly and courteously by name (if known) Answer telephones promptly and courteously identifying yourself and the company Provide skilled and knowledgeable assistance to customers Provide accurate and timely execution of customer’s orders, requests and other services Enhance customer orders by asking if other products are needed that were not specifically requested Use computer to do invoicing, credits, returns, reclaim, product procurement/replenishment, cash box reconciliation etc. Load and unload company, customer and outside carrier vehicles using proper equipment Break down and put away stock Participate in the After Hours Emergency Call rotation to assist customers when the branch is closed Other Job Functions Follow-through/follow-up on promises and commitments made to customers Make deliveries as needed Assist in maintaining a clean and protected work setting inside and out; i.e., empty trash, sweep floors, clean bathroom(s), etc. Maintain current vendor catalogs, cross-references, price sheets, literature and specification data, and MSDS sheets Perform related jobs as required Physical Demands Requires moving, lifting, and carrying up to 75 pounds Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, stretching and ability to climb ladders Requires exposure to chemicals and solvents Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input Skills and Abilities Ability to cross-reference and recommend substitute products Ability to get along with customers and other employees, follow directions and work under pressure Equipment Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, photocopier and so on Fork lift Education/Knowledge Basic knowledge of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, HVAC. Learn and understand United’s product offering as well as rest of industry Attend product seminars provided “in-house” and trade education groups (RSES, ACCA, ARW, etc.) and vendors. Work Conditions Overtime required during off-season and mandatory during season and inventory Saturdays as required by location and season.
