We are currently recruiting for a regular, full-time (37.5 hours per week) Speech-Language Pathologist to fill an upcoming vacancy in Clinical and Technical Specialty Services. This position is will support Augmentative Communication Service. The designated office for this position is London. Travel within Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford, Chatham-Kent, Huron, Perth, Grey and Bruce counties to provide services to clients may be required.This position is expected to begin in July 2026. Responsibilities
Assess clients’ diverse communication needs to make recommendations and equipment prescriptions which align with the preferences and needs of clients and families; Assist in determining eligibility for Assistive Devices Program (ADP) funding of communication equipment and authorizing eligible equipment following ADP guidelines;Develop a care plan with objectives and strategies to support communication development in collaboration with clients, families, educators, therapists and others involved; Consultation-based intervention to caregivers, community therapists, and educators of clients who require the use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC);Advocate and build the community’s capacity to support the communication of persons who use AAC; Assist in identifying the need for training and participate in the development and provision of tiered intervention; Clinically responsible to supervise support personnel, students and initial practice registrants within the guidelines of CASLPO;Remain current with evidence-based and technological advancements in the field of AAC. Qualifications
Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario Experience in paediatrics is preferred Experience with supporting augmentative communication Completion of the CEP Foundations in AAC course is preferred ADP individual authorizer status is required prior to, or upon starting the positionExcellent organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting Computer proficiency including MS Office 365 and videoconferencing software (e.g. Teams) Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are requiredCurrent certification in First Aid and CPR Ability to provide services in French would be an asset Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis Salary Range: $40.61 - $50.76/hour
