Landscape technician (Longueuil)

Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English or French Hours: 32 to 35 hours per week Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 1 to less than 7 months Work site environment Outdoors Work setting Greenhouse Tasks Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation Plan the incorporation of landscape structures Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning Manage landscaping projects Prepare proposals Estimate costs Write specifications Survey and assess designated sites Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions Assess the health of lawns Direct crews who maintain the health and appearance of golf courses and their surrounding landscapes Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease Plan and co-ordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses and other purposes Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens Plant and move trees Tree removal Personal suitability Client focus Flexibility Organized Reliability Team player Punctuality Screening questions Are you available for shift or on-call work?
