$56 570 - $100 410
*The Educational Consultant at the top of the scale receives a salary increase equal to the difference between the maximum rate of the salary scale and the maximum rate of the salary scale of teachers currently in effect. As of April 1, 2024, the total salary for a consultant at step 18, including the increase, is $100 246.

Nature of the work
The position of education consultant encompasses, in particular, responsibility for providing advice and support to staff of educational institutions and services in the implementation, development and evaluation of programs of study, class management and instructional materials.
Description of tasks
Characteristics
Assist administrators, teachers, and other professionals in the selection and implementation of programs related to NEXTSchool
Participates in carrying out the NEXTSchool project
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the project, while complying with the academic and administrative requirements of both the educational institution and the school board
Participate in carrying out the educational project and the special projects of education institutions
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of their success plan, while complying with the academic and administrative requirements of bot the educational institutions and the school board
Contribute to the implementation of programs of study and the NEXTSchool project and training
Provide advice to teachers and administration concerning the interpretation of those programs, designs and leads training workshops and sessions on program components
Collaborate in developing learning situations and supports experimentation in class
Provide advice and support to teachers either individually or in a group format in matters pertaining to their daily teaching activities
Develop or select and deliver training instrumentation activities designed to respond to needs in pedagogical adaptation, innovation, and development.
Responsibilities and tasks
Assist the NEXTSchool team with the alignment of the curriculum and the implementation of the NEXTSchool project.
Support the coordination of multi-disciplinary projects.
Support the organization of educational activities.
Analyze and develop recommendations to support the advancement of the NEXTSchool project
Preparation of the year-end reporting.
Support school teams with the collection of data regarding the pathways advancement.
Liaison with stakeholders.
Respond to the needs of school teams by suggesting evidence-based resources and programs that support the vision of the NEXTSchool.
Provide school teams with professional development training.
Assist with the coordination of student flex-time.
Qualifications required
Schooling
A bachelors degree in an appropriate specialty, notably education.
Other requirements
Bilingual - Strong knowledge of English and French.
Strong presentation skills and ability to lead career development workshops.
Strong interpersonal skills; team player and builder
Excellent leadership skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Valid drivers license to travel to all schools to provide support
Experience working with problem-based learning
Experience with curriculum alignment
High level of empathy, care, and sensitivity to the needs of students and teachers.
Experience working in schools and school boards is an asset.
