This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, is passionate about STEM education, and can confidently lead immersive programming in French in a fun, active, and supportive learning environment. This camp is designed to build strong STEM foundations through interactive projects and experiments while also helping campers strengthen their French language proficiency through conversation, instruction, collaboration, and presentations. Using TAC Sports’ 5-Star Development approach, instructors will guide campers through exciting STEM activities in biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering while encouraging curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and communication in French. Key Responsibilities - Lead hands-on STEM camp sessions in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment, delivered in advanced conversational French - Teach and support activities related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through interactive projects and experiments - Guide campers through activities such as slime-making, ecosystem creation, bridge building, and chemical reaction experiments - Encourage campers to build confidence in both STEM learning and French communication through discussion, collaboration, and presentations - Apply the TAC Sports 5-Star Development approach to support skill-building, engagement, and enjoyment - Incorporate 30 minutes of outdoor activity into each half-day of programming - Supervise campers throughout activities, transitions, and breaks to ensure safety and positive behaviour - Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, material preparation, and activity organization - Complete camper progress reports highlighting participation, learning, and final projects - Build positive relationships with campers, families, and TAC Sports staff - Follow TAC Sports’ program plans, safety procedures, and child supervision standards at all times Qualifications - Experience working with children in camps, education, recreation, or youth programs - Solid interest in or knowledge of STEM subjects, with the ability to make learning interactive and accessible - Fluency in French, with the ability to lead instruction and conversation at an advanced conversational level - Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills - Energetic, patient, and confident leading groups in both classroom-style and active camp settings - Ability to organize materials, lead hands-on projects, and create a positive learning workplace - Background in education, science, engineering, French studies, recreation, or a related field is an asset - First Aid/CPR certification and Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain them, preferred What We Offer - Full-time summer employment with a growing youth sports and enrichment organization - A fun, active, and supportive team environment - Meaningful work inspiring curiosity, confidence, and bilingual learning in young campers - A dynamic role combining STEM education, language development, and camp programming - Opportunities for training, growth, and continued involvement with TAC Sports Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o4p29
