Program Manager, Community Connections&Healthy Living Program Manager, Community Connections&Healthy Living (12 months temporary contract).
School District No. 42 serves over 17,000 students in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows with more than 2,000 staff and a $200M budget, offering K‑12 education and lifelong learning programs.
Responsibilities
Conduct individual needs assessments at elementary schools to identify interests and desired program themes for after‑school programs.
Develop enriching after‑school programs that complement the academic plan, ensuring participants’ interests and needs are met.
Collaborate with district staff, parents, and community organizations to implement and maintain developmentally appropriate services and programs.
Manage after‑school programs at various locations to ensure success and compliance with grant requirements.
Manage program budgets and orders supplies and materials.
Perform personnel functions—including recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluations—to maintain adequate programming and productivity within budget.
Prepare written materials such as activity reports, attendance logs, parent surveys, registration materials, and inventory records for documentation and communication purposes.
Research equipment, supplies, best practices, and trends to make recommendations for developing new programs and plans.
Communicate with parents through daily drop‑off and pick‑up, address behavioral challenges, and coordinate necessary supports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
University degree in Recreation, Community Development, Education, Social Science, Business, or equivalent training and experience.
Minimum three years of public sector experience planning, organizing, implementing, and managing educational and recreational after‑school programs.
Supervisory experience with strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment on complex, non‑routine matters within established policy and procedures.
Proven conflict‑resolution skills and ability to handle sensitive or confidential issues with tact and discretion.
Expertise in computer technology, including e‑mail, Internet, MS Office Suite, PerfectMind, and Excel.
Previous experience with budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
This is a full‑time temporary position effective June 30, 2026, to July 6, 2027.
